The Laboratory, headed by Dr. Kevin Corbett, is focused on the molecular mechanisms of chromosome segregation in meiosis. The group uses biochemistry, X-ray crystallography, and genetics in S. cerevisiae to probe the structure, function, and interactions between proteins involved in meiotic chromosome pairing, crossover initiation and maturation, and chromosome segregation.

Post-doctoral candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Corbett directly via e-mail to inquire about post-doctoral positions. The Laboratory is most interested in candidates with expertise in biochemistry & protein purification as well as X-ray crystallography. Candidates with a background in yeast genetics are also strongly encouraged to apply. All candidates must be highly motivated and have a strong record of independent research.

UCSD graduate students should contact Dr. Corbett directly via e-mail to inquire about potential rotation projects.
